Real securities and servitudes (bis) and GIPE |

Following the National Council also the Council of the States decided about an important change of the Swiss Civil Code, whereby all contracts concerning servitudes and real securities require a notarization. This will increase the certainty of justice. The date of coming into effect is not yet determined.
On the occasion of the 7th Congress of the "Groupe International Patrimoine & Entreprise" (GIPE) taking place between the 17th and 20th September 2009 in Berlin, eleven swisNot-notaries joined 50 notaries and attorneys from European and African countries. The principal theme of the congress consisted in real security and chattel mortgage in the international context.
